"Option Pending": One Year Ago

It's been a little over a year since our offer was accepted on our new house. I saw it hit the market at noon one Friday, our fabulous agent got us in to see it by 5:00 p.m., and we signed the contract just before heading out of town for the weekend.  Our offer was accepted by 8:00 a.m. the next morning, and we shared a celebratory mimosa toast with friends.

Here's what a year can change:

It's been a year of hard work.  We removed paneling, put up sheetrock, painted the entire interior, put down hardwood floors throughout the house, ripped out the built-in cabinets, changed out most of the hardware in the house, replaced all interior doors, removed wallpaper in the 1st bath, and replaced mirrors and faucets in there as well.  As for decor we worked mainly with what we already owned, and we worked with a fairly tight budget.

Eventually we want to renovate both bathrooms and update the kitchen and laundry room cabinet doors. We'll see how/when/if the budget allows now that our family of two will be growing by two feet. I hear that children are expensive.   :)
