There's No Place Like Home

Preston made it home just one day shy of his two week birthday. He's a rock star that's for sure. All those heart babies are. They amaze me. They're so resilient. My c-section incision is still clearly healing, but the scar on Preston's chest is almost completely healed and looks awesome.

The echo of his heart yesterday showed improvement in his heart function. Yippee! Next up is a series of follow up appointments starting this Friday.

We're up for visitors; however, we ask that visitors who have been sick recently hold off for a week or two. We received numerous lectures from the doctors about keeping Preston infection free for the next few months. He will not be getting any immunizations at all until at least 6 weeks of life due to his open heart surgery and his fragile state. He should only be a couple of weeks behind on immunizations if all goes according to plan.

Preston enjoying his bath from his main squeeze, Ms. Rose.
Seriously, he got her digits.
Mommy's To-Do List & P's discharge time
Heading out
Buckled in... had to check twice to be sure.
Introducting Sam to Preston.
I seriously have never seen Sam more excited.
Napping in my crib the first night home.
{Don't worry, Dad, he didn't sleep in there through the night}
Chillaxing in bed with mommy while she blogs.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from Him.

Congratulations!! I know that amazing feeling you have when you get to bring your treasure home from a long stay in the NICU. I know you probably still have a smile pasted on your face and you can't believe he is IN YOUR HOUSE. Cherish it! I pray Preston continues to do well.

Remember when we talked about God having a plan, one we didn't understand, but God's will would be done in your lives. Well Preston's healed heart is a true testiment to His saving grace. I told you that it would all work out and I'm so happy to see that it did. Love you guys so much! Keep rockin' P!

I'm a complete stranger following your blog from a mutual friend praying for your family. God Bless you all Preston is so handsome!!

I know as a first time mom all you want to do is show off your lil guy. Please think twice about visitors. Flu season is in full swing. A visitor is contagious 24hrs BEFORE they have any symptoms.

You have a precious family and are truely BLESSED!!!
