changes.

I know there are many opinions out there about co-sleeping, but we did it. We used the Safe & Secure Sleeper by First Years. It was the best $40 we spent in our opinion. I was very anxious co-sleeping until we found this.

All this in past tense because since Friday night Preston has not slept in the bed with us. He now sleeps in this on my side of the bed.

So what if I kept my hand on his chest the whole time?
Let me just tell you that he LOVES this sleeper. He falls asleep immediately and sleeps more soundly. In fact, Saturday night we slept 7 hours straight!  I can rock it if I hear him start to stir so he'll keep snoozing, and his head is elevated which helps with the reflux.

The next step... his crib in about 5 years

we co-slept in the beginning to- i just plopped C down inbetween Husband and I and threatened Husband within an inch of his life if he rolled over onto C ;o) Actually, C slept up between our pillows.. so he was a little more protected. He's been in his crib since he was 5.5 months old (slept in a bassinet in our room until then! i worried that he would be sleeping that basinett until he went off to college! Haha.. but now, if he's up before 6:30am, he's back in bed with us.. just this morning I woke up to him with his little head on MY pillow, spooning me (clearly, I was the "inside spoon!") Why he doesn't try to steal my Husband's side of the bed, I'll never know.. I just love those morning snuggles, though!!! :)

I don't blame you for wanting to be close to him--especially after such a big surgery!

We used the First Years co-sleeper too! Park did not do well with it, so we then moved to the same Rock and Play sleeper and has been sleeping like a champ ever since!

So exciting about the 7 hours!! Go Sweet P!!

Cannot wait to see you in a few weeks!

We LOVED that sleeper! B has been in his crib the past month ONLY because he was getting too long for the sleeper. His little legs were starting to hang off the side. I sure do miss him being in the other room though :(

Logan is in his crib but still on that damn boppy. Although it's been a week in his own room, I still miss him in our room. I am honestly exhausted getting up and walking to his room a few times a night. Almost makes me want to hunt for something that holds more than 15 pounds so I can bring him back in the room!

Transition to the crib is a hard one...thank goodness for wonderful video monitors! Invest in a good one if you haven't already! GG never slept with us but in a bassinet beside my side of the bed for about a month and a half. Once we transitioned to the crib, sleep training wasn't far off (about 3-4 months old)! Can't sing the praises of that enough!

That sleeper looks really neat! Glad P is a happy camper! Happy baby=happy momma!

XO

Hey What ever works! My daughter slept in her bug-a-boo stroller pram next to my side of the bed.

Our almost 5 month old just moved to his crib at night about 2 weeks ago...before that he was napping in there, but in the pack-n-play in our room! I miss him in our room, but feel better that he can now stretch out in his crib! It's so hard to make the transition!!

I don't have a baby yet but I'm sure he/she's going to be doing plenty of co-sleeping with me!!! Especially if I can sleep 7 hours...and I know my had will be on their chest to! LOL

We have that rocker, too but Thatcher uses it for naps (I still feel he needs his head elevated for spit up). He still sleeps in the bassinet part of the Pack N Play. I love having him in our room -- whatever works!

Moms due what they have to do to get their rest and sleep. With my second child a purchased a Co-sleep that is a bassinet that one side drops down and secured to my bed. That way she was in her own bed and not in between us but right beside me where I could see her when I rolled over. I want so how long she slept in it, but it was over 6 months. I was/am very protective of my children.
