texas bluebonnets

I can remember my mom intentionally dressing my sister and I up so that we could stop by the fields of bluebonnets on our way to school.  Seemed so super cheesy back in the day, but I completely get it now.  I'm that mom now.

And no, I do not have not even one picture of them together in the bluebonnets. Preston is very much anti-picture taking these days.  I'm sure it's a three year old thing, but it's annoying.  Anyhow, I got one of him.  I'll take it.

Hadley, on the other hand, was a trooper.  She didn't smile much, though.  I think the flowers were a little overwhelming for her.

what's up, Blondie!

And wouldn't you know that Preston was ready for a picture as soon as we were home with no bluebonnets in sight.

Beauty Favorites

1. Facade eyeliners are my tried and true. Love them all especially the Bardot and the Delilah colors. If you're in Houston, get yourself to Facade.

2. Coconut oil - this is a new item in my bathroom, but I'm totally kicking myself for not having it in there sooner.  I use it on my arms as I've developed a little KP since my pregnancies and those pesky little bumps are already improving.  The most noticeable difference is how soft my hands are now.  They stay well moisturized despite washing my hands 129694 times a day. Plus, I'm on that oil pulling bandwagon. No reports on that though because I just started.

3. This is my favorite, affordable dry shampoo. I keep two bottles in my bathroom at all times.  I use dry shampoo daily since I decided to do the whole bang thing last summer.  I have to spray a little on my bangs each morning to avoid that bad, oily, stuck-to-my-forehead look.

4. Finally Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush is a splurge for me, but i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.  It stays put for hours upon hours.  No. 5 and No. 10 (pictured above) are my two favorite shades.

Preston-isms @ 3 years, 2 months

"I can't like that."  in reference to different foods we urge him to try.

"I just do that."  in reference to why he did this or that.  like why he came in our bed at flippin' 2:30 a.m.

"Jesus is coming on Monday."  Preston the prophet.  Hahaha!

In reference to the above : he's a big fan of Jesus and his favorite day of the week is Monday.  No clue why on the Monday thing --- Mondays are certainly not a day we celebrate in this house.  I HATE Mondays.

"Chippies"  in reference to his favorite food.

"Froo-Froo" is his imaginary friend. Froo-Froo lives on the Island of Sodor, is a dog, who likes to hang out on the ceiling and ride in Preston's car with him. Oh, and Froo-Froo loves chippies also.

"Mommy, you in trouble. Mommy, you go to time-out."  Turning 3 brought forth a whole new level of sass that we're trying to get a grip on.  Honestly, it's hard not to laugh.

He's loves the movie Frozen, which by the way, I'm convinced has subliminal messages for kids.  We walked through the grocery store this weekend with him belting out "Let it go, Let it go."

He is a great big brother.  He will beat us to give her her beloved pacifier.  Overall, he is so concerned about her well-being.  So much so he tried to offer a roly-poly to eat a couple of weeks ago.  "Baby Haddie, eat da roly-poly, momma?"

He's O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D with roly-polies.

He talks about how we are going to see the "Polor Press" at Christmas time.  Guess I need to look at when they open the ticket sales for this year.

We've told him that we are going back to the beach again this year so he tells everyone that we are "going to da beach next week."  Ha, try June buddy.

Hadley loves to watch her brother.  She smiles a ginormous grin when he runs by her.

So thankful for this little guy and all of his sweet words and the memories he is creating in our hearts forever!

HEV :: 5 months

Did someone say thighs!?

My sweet girl is already five months old.  Time just keeps marching on.
She stopped nursing with the exception of an occasional nurse at night if she wakes up.
With the exception of when she is sick, she is a fantastic sleeper.

She takes about four 8 ounce bottles a day.  I'm still pumping 3-4 times a day so she gets 1-2 breast milk bottles and the rest Similac Sensitive.  I tried to give her cereal with breast milk a couple of weeks ago.  She spit it out.  We will try again in a week or so.

She can roll from tummy to back and can almost roll from back to tummy.  Rosa, our nanny, says she is going to be an early crawler and in fact says "she will crawl soon."  To which I cry, Noooooooooooo!  Not yet --- I'm in no way ready to give up this baby stage.

Girl loves her paci.  She's definitely a paci-holic.

Sounds so cliche, but goodness time is flying by. My little 5 lb 2 oz dainty little peanut is growing up.  Pass the wine tissues.
